February 14, 2012

From the "Galleries" section of your admin site, you can now drag n drop to reorder sub galleries. This allows you to control the order galleries display in your navigation as well as on a gallery landing page (if the main parent gallery has no photos).

Specify custom height and width for page images

February 13, 2012

When using the "Image" widget on your pages you can now specify a custom height and width. So if your image is 2000x2000 pixels, you can now specify dimensions of 400x400 instead.

If you leave the height and width blank, the images original dimensions will be used. If you specify a height and width, to change it later you will need to re-upload the original image for it be reprocessed.

Price Packages now available!

December 12, 2011

You can now add price packages to your galleries! What is a price package exactly? Its a way to group a number of different items into one group and provide them for a single price, e.g. a Silver Wedding Package, a Gold Wedding package etc.

To use them, go the "Packages" page (found under the main Galleries menu in the admin section of the site) and create some packages. Then go and edit/create a gallery and add the appropriate packages to it, that's it. Now when your customers browse your gallery they can pick photos to match each item you have in your package.

If you have any questions or feedback about packages, be sure to let us know.

New options for the Latest Blog Entry widget

November 30, 2011

Two new options are available for the "Latest Blog Entry" widget

  • Heading - adds a heading displayed at the top of the latest blog entries, looks much the same as the heading for the Latest Thumbnails widget
  • Display type - you can now choose how you want your latest blog entries to display, either: full detail, as a blurb (using the first content area found on the blog entry) or simply as a title.
Have a play and let us know how you go.

New "Document" page widget available

November 27, 2011

When you next create or edit a page, you'll see a new "Document" widget available. It is a pretty simple widget, allowing you to upload a document and give it a name, then displaying on your page as a link for customers to download from.

New shopping cart option

November 25, 2011

Just a quick update, there is a new option on your shopping cart settings page - "Customers must pick a delivery destination?" - select this to make sure your customers pick a delivery destination (if you have any setup).

In the future, this behavior may become the default (if you have delivery destinations, your customers will have to pick one), but for now you will have to enable this option.

2 new blog options

November 23, 2011

2 new blog options were just added to the site:

  • Only show blog entry titles? - by default, on your main blog page complete blog entries are displayed, but you can now choose to show only titles and customers click through to read the whole entry.
  • Blog entries per page - be default 5 blog entries per page would show on your blog, you can now change this to whatever number you like.

Some new page options

October 21, 2011

Two new options have been added to your "Page Settings" page:

  • Show a powered by Silhouette link - enabling this will show a Powered by Silhouette link at the very bottom of your site
  • Disable page reloading - this is a pretty exciting new feature, enabling this stops the whole page reloading when customers view different pages / galleries. It's really effective if you don't want your pages site music to start / stop as customers move around your site. This was a big feature to create, so there may be a few warts around it, get in touch if you have any issues.

A new way to edit your pages

October 10, 2011

We've just released a new way to create and edit pages. You no longer edit and create pages (including blog entries) from the admin site, its now done while viewing your public site. The actual process of editing your pages is much the same, you still drag and drop widgets onto your pages into rows and columns, but the new version is much easeir to use and gives you a good indication of what your page will look like when its saved.

Also, when you view a gallery on your public site, its now easy to upload photos to it by clicking on the "+ Photos" link in the admin toolbar at the top of the page.

We're pretty excited by this and think it will be a lot easier to use. If you have any questions or ideas of ways to improve this let us know.
